James Aaron Addis

James Aaron Addis, 83, of Crown City, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the VA Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia. He was born December 20, 1932 in Deep Water, West Virginia, son of the late Clarence Addis and Nancy Elizabeth Ridenour Woods. James was married to Ellen Burnette Addis and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Surviving are his wife, Ellen Addis, Crown City; three sons, Mark (Carla) Addis of Patriot, Matthew (Lena) Addis of Laurel, New York, John (Kim) Addis of Gallipolis; two daughters, Cheryl Addis of Rio Grande and Dawn Addis of Illinois; four grandsons, Aaron (Shania) Addis, Trevor Addis, AJ Addis and Matthew D. Addis; a great grandson, Charles Tyler Addis; a special friend, Tammy Addis of Gallipolis; and two brothers, Frank F. Woods of Crown City and John (Tiffany) Woods of Cincinnati. In addition to his parents, Frank and Nancy Elizabeth Woods, James was preceded in death by a daughter, Jamie Renee Addis and a grandson, Charlie Addis. A memorial service will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Alfred Holley officiating. There will be a military flag presentation by the VFW Funeral Honor Guard.
