James Franklin “Frank” Hamilton, 89, of Gallipolis, joined his Lord in Heaven December 2, 2015. He was born May 9, 1926 in Lawrence County, Ohio to the late James Thomas and Esta Wiseman Hamilton. Also preceding him in death was his loving wife of 43 years, Ruth Ella Cotton Hamilton who passed away January 24, 1987, a brother John Thomas Hamilton and a sister, Betty Riggs. Frank was a 1944 graduate of GAHS. He was a World War II Navy veteran and was a Western Southern Life Insurance agent for 30 years. Frank was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and was active in many civic and Veteran’s organizations including VFW, Amvets and 40 and 8, leaving many true and dear friends. Surviving are two sons, James Richard (Judy) Hamilton and Randall Thomas (Tammy) Hamilton; six grandchildren, Shea (Peter) Garnham, Ryan (Heather) Hamilton, Jared (Heather) Hamilton, Megan (Travis) McWhorter, James Hamilton and Renea (Jason) Irick; two step grandchildren, Ashley (Rob) Monday and Mary Jane (Davey) Johnson; five great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren. Services will be 4:00 p.m., Sunday, December 6, 2015 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Thomas and Bob Powell officiating. Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 7, 2015 at Mound Hill Cemetery. There will be military rites at the graveside by the Gallia County Funeral Detail. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday prior to the funeral. Honorary pallbearers will be James Hamilton, Jason Irick, John Cotton Casto, Shawn Litterini, Ryan Hamilton, Jared Hamilton, Dave McCoy, Bob Wiseman, Bill Medley, Lee Burchum and Keith Jeffers In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Frank’s memory to the Gallia County Veteran’s organizations or Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, 3100 Staunton Rd., Huntington, WV 25702.
