Jane Jividen

January 19, 1939 — May 2, 2026

Gallipolis

Jane Jividen, age 87, went home to be with Jesus on May 2nd following a short illness while surrounded by loved ones.

Jane was born January 18th, 1939, in Given, West Virginia, and attended Ripley High School in Ripley, West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Carl Wilson “Joe” Parsons and Bessie Ossie Parsons.

She married the love of her life, Wayne Jividen, on September 15th, 1956, and together they shared 58 years of marriage before his passing in 2014.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Jividen; daughter, Kim Jividen; sister, Oreta Sargent; brothers, Eric Parsons and Jearl Parsons; brothers‑in‑laws, Dennis Sykes, Delmas Sargent, and Neil McMahon; sister‑in‑law, Jeanne Parsons; and niece, Angela Sykes.

She is survived by her daughter, Terri Jividen; and son, Mark (Dreama) Jividen; sisters, Lynda Sykes of Centralia, Missouri and Shirley McMahon of Gallipolis; and sister‑in‑law, Linda Parsons of Given, West Virginia.

She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Scott (Sarah) Jividen of Cincinnati; Mandi Loveday of Gallipolis; Sarah (Travis) Keefer of Point Pleasant, West Virginia; Micha (Tyler) Holcomb; Dustin (Ashlee) Deckard; Meghan (Jared) Denney; and Alex Rose, all of Gallipolis, along with 16 great‑grandchildren and one great‑great‑granddaughter.

She also leaves behind many friends and special extended family members David and Cindy Graham, Jamie and Amy Graham, Aaron and Cassie Walker, Joey and Beth Graham. Along with her best friend, Faye Coughenour.

Jane was a member of Elizabeth Chapel Church and attended Gallipolis Christian Church. She was a 4-H advisor for many years and a member of the Gallia County Agricultural Society and the Gallia County Farm Bureau.

She enjoyed time in the bleachers cheering on sports games and attending livestock and horse shows, always happy to be part of the community and the excitement around her.


The funeral service for Jane will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2026 at Willis Funeral Home with entombment to follow in the Ohio Valley Memory Gardens Chapel of Hope Mausoleum.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at Willis Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.


Pallbearers will be Jamie Graham, Joey Graham, Jon Davis, Brian Corbin, Jamie Saunders, Billy Swain, Jeff Hoopes, and Winston Saunders. Honorary Pallbearers Kent Shawver, David Graham, Rod Frisby, and Randy Stinnett.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jane’s memory to the Gallia Academy Stadium Project or the Gallia County Fair Relocation Project.
