Jerry M. Gust, 74, of Gallipolis, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2005 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center after a short illness. He was born on November 20, 1931 in East Grand Forks, Minnesota to the late George and Julia Pribula Gust. He married Susan Gust on March 13, 1982 and she survives him. He was retired having worked in management for Anchor Hocking Corporate Industrial Relations in Lancaster, Ohio, as an instructor and assistant to the President of the University of Rio Grande, and advisor and coach to the students in Free Enterprise at the University of Rio Grande. He was involved in the planning and organization of the yearly Ethics Conference for high school students. Jerry was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and Gallipolis Rotary Club, where he was a past president and board member. He was also a Paul Harris Fellow and Paul Mossman Fellow. Jerry was a Korean War Air Force veteran. Surviving are his wife, Susan Gust of Gallipolis; one son, Ran Gust of California; two daughters, Mary Dan Thompson of New Jersey and Debra Tom Gordon Gust of Georgia; a stepdaughter, Melanee Kim Turner of Indiana; five grandchildren, Brielle Thompson, Cory and Craig Turner and Aspen and Sierra Gordon; three brothers, Bob June Gust of Arizona, Tim Alice Gust and Phil Zinney Gust, both of California; three sisters, Betty Bernell Skelton of California, Sister Mary Jean Gust and Sister Cornelia Gust, both serving in the Benedictine Order in Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Joseph Gust. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, December 9, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church with Msgr. William R. Myers, celebrant. Interment will follow later in the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.
