Jimmie Dale McGuire

Jimmie Dale McGuire, 89, of Mercerville, Ohio, passed away on Friday, October 30, 2026 at Holzer Medical Center. Jimmie Dale was born on December 19, 1936 in Gallia County, son of the late John and Nellie Wickline McGuire.

Jimmie Dale was married to his beloved wife Inez Waugh McGuire on August 17, 1956; and she preceded him in death on August 6, 2019. In addition to his wife and parents, Jimmie was preceded in death by a son, John Edgar "Johnny" McGuire; two sisters, Ruth Murray and Mabel Beaver; four brothers, Carl McGuire, Willis Thomas McGuire, Paul David McGuire, and J.J. McGuire; one stepbrother, Everett McGuire; and one stepsister, Violet Stumbo.

Jimmie Dale retired from the Gallia County Highway Department. He enjoyed horses, pulling ponies, and rabbit hunting. He is survived by two sons, Jimmie Dale "JD" (Cheryl) McGuire and Randy Lee (Amy) McGuire; one daughter, Lyla Beth (George) Osborne; grandchildren, Angela (Neal) Peifer, Jay (Crystal) McGuire, Jessica (Donnie) Barnes, Anthony (Elena ) Lane, Lacey (Aaron) Miranda, Jon McGuire, Richard Osborne, and Brady (Amanda) Swain; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Eleanor Sheldon.

The funeral service for Jimmie Dale will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2026 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Johnson officiating. His burial will follow in Old Mercerville Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday prior to the service from 11 a.m. until 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
