Joann A. Haskins, 69, of Vinton, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at her residence. She was born August 20, 1946 in Huntington, West Virginia, daughter of the late Lonie E. and Marguerite Spencer Pope. Joann was married to James Haskins and he preceded her in death in 2012. She was a retired aide after 22 years at Scenic Hills/Abbyshire Place, a part-time employee of Super 8 Motel and a homemaker. She loved traveling, sunflowers, her dogs and flea markets. Surviving are her son, Frank (Rebecca) Overstreet of Cheshire; a daughter, Jennifer (Shannon) Waggoner of Vinton; three grandchildren, Hannah and Gage Overstreet, Olivia Jo Haskins-Waggoner; one great grandchild, Paisley Smith;` four sisters, Bobby Ogawa of Columbia, South Carolina, Jeanette Campbell of Tavares, Florida, Lisa Jean Nolan of Vinton, Lorrie Nolan of Bidwell; five brothers, George (Trinna) Pope of North Carolina, Gary (Letha) Pope, Michael (Laura) Pope, Pat Pope, all of Vinton; J.D. (Lois) Pope of Texas; several nieces and nephews In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by one grandchild, Gavin Lee Haskins Waggoner, a sister, Kimberly Holler, and two brothers, Laney Pope and Jeff Pope. Services will be 4:00 p.m., Sunday, February 28, 2016 at the Willis Funeral Home with Chaplain Fred Williams officiating. Friends may call from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service. A graveside service will be 12:00 noon, Monday, February 29, 2016 at Ohio Valley Memory Gardens.
