Joe Russell Jeffers Jr., 58, of Crown City, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2011 at the Holzer Medical Center. He was born August 18, 1952 in Gallipolis, son of the late Joe Russell Jeffers Sr. and Doris Emogene Holley Jeffers. He was a Vietnam U.S. Army veteran and was employed as a loss control specialist. He was also a member of the VFW, American Legion, and AMVETS. Surviving are his son, Joe Russell Jeffers III of Gallipolis; his daughter, Amanda Hendricks of Gallipolis; a special friend, Tina Hendricks; four brothers, Keith (Lisa) Jeffers of Gallipolis, Richard (Peggy) Ward of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, Bill (Marilyn) Ward of Gallipolis and Tony D. Angelo of Crown City; a sister, Monica (Charles) Day of Crown City; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. A private graveside service will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at Mound Hill Cemetery with Rev. Ron Bynum officiating. Full military services will be presented by members of area veterans lodges. Honorary pallbearers will be his brothers. Arrangements are by the Willis Funeral Home.
