John B. Burnette, 73, of Patriot, Ohio passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at his residence. He was born on November 5, 1942 in Patriot, Ohio son of the late Carroll H. Burnette, Sr. and Ruth Cochran Burnette. John had been an Iron Worker, Kaiser Aluminum employee and retired as a self-employed truck driver. He enjoyed boating and hunting. John is survived by his daughter Fabrienna (Jeff) Hannan-Goebel of Gallipolis; a granddaughter Jessica Hannan-Goebel; one sister Bonnie Burnette Fruth of Pt. Pleasant, WV; niece and nephews, Debbie Reed, Brent and Craig Burnette and Robert E. Fruth; former wife Maudie L. McCarley of Gallipolis and former wife Maury Mayes Clendenin and her children and grandchildren of Pt. Pleasant, WV; several aunts and cousins also survive. John was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Betty Lee Burnette and by a brother Carroll H. Burnette, Jr. Services will be 1 pm Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Alfred Holley officiating. Burial will follow in Patriot Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 12 pm until the time of the services. Pallbearers will be Brent Burnette, Craig Burnette, Robert Fruth, Robert Eric Fruth, Tommy Beck, and Jeff Goebel. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Webb, Tony Beck and Jim Baldwin.
