Joshua Ryan Wamsley, 39, of Bidwell, Ohio passed away on Thursday October 9, 2025 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia. Josh was born on February 24, 1986 in Gallipolis, Ohio to Robin Denise Wamsley.
He graduated from River Valley High School in 2004. Prior to being employed by OVEC at Kyger Creek, he was a member of Carpenters Local Union 650 until 2021; since his employment at Kyger Creek he has made many good friends. On 2.22.22, he married the love of his life, Crystal after being together since 2019.
Josh loved his wife and children unmeasurably and devoted his life to providing for and taking care of them. Josh loved his family and friends, having a houseful of kids, his dogs, fishing, gardening, and helping others. He was always quick to give you a hug and say, “I love you” or “If you need anything, get ahold of me." He had a heart as big as he was.
With his generous act of giving when he decided to be an organ donor years ago, Josh was able to help several people with his heart, both kidneys, and liver.
Along with his wife and mother, Josh is survived by his children, Aiden Ryan, Hailee Nichole, Brooklynn Renee, Michaela Jo, Taylor Reece, and Alex Steven Ryan; a sister, Britini Campbell; uncles, Don (Stephanie) Wamsley and Rich (Gabby) Fuller; aunts, Debbie Diddle and Amy (Stacy) Edwards; a niece, Bella Campbell; a nephew, Trevor Campbell; and cousins, Jon (Cortney) Diddle, Kayla (Jeremy) Evans, Latosha (Adriana) Goheen, Jesse (Macy) Edwards, Jake (Bailey) Edwards, Chase (Morgan) Williams, Gracee Wamsley, Shane (Tashika and Ashton) Brumfield, Talissa (JD, Aria, Koko, Dawson, Miranda, and Shade) Brumfield, Jacob (Cal and Esther) Brumfield, and Hunter Mannon.
Josh was preceded in death by his Nan and Pap, Joan and John Wamsley; Grandma and Grampa, Janet and Angelo D'amico; and cousin, Merika Brumfield.
Friends and family may be received at Willis Funeral Home on Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at 1:00 p.m. with Rich Fuller officiating. Burial will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery. Following the burial, friends and family will be gathering in the cafeteria at River Valley High School; all are welcome.
