Joyce C. Grimmette

Joyce C. Parsons Grimmette, 58, of Gallipolis, formerly of Mann, WV, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 1, 2006 at the Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio at 2:00 p.m. Joyce was born on July 17, 1947 in Mallory, WV, daughter of Rev. Andrew and Lucille Belcher Parsons. She was a member of the Silver Memorial Freewill Baptist Church; a 1964 graduate of Kyger Creek High School and had received a vocational degree in business. Joyce had worked for Western Electric, Goodyear, Rushden Motors and Universal Mine Supply. In 1996, she retired from her position as head cashier at Burgess and Lohn Supermarket with eighteen years of employment. Joyce is survived by and will be greatly missed by her devoted husband of 37 years, Larry K. Grimmette of Gallipolis; a son, David Parsons of Clayton, NC; a daughter, Machelle Tim Rowe of Clayton, NC; two stepdaughters, Vonda Danny Copley of Clayton, NC and Annette Richard Gibson of Vanceboro, NC; her grandchildren whom she loved dearly and was very proud of, Jacob Rowe, Larry David and Curtis Parsons, Daniel Copley, Amy David Jones, Hannah Rowe, Bethany Copley, and Chelsie Gibson; great grandchildren, Logan and Emma Ruth Parsons and Katelyn Jones; her father, Rev. Andrew Leah Parsons of Gallipolis; sisters, Anna Sue Richard Marsh of Mann, WV, Shirley John Sigman of Gallipolis and Peggy Barry Yeauger of Cheshire; brothers, James Bernie Parsons of Gallipolis, Rev. Jack Vickie Parsons of Clayton, NC and Rev. Dennis Connie Parsons of Gallipolis. Joyce was preceded in death by her mother, Lucille Belcher Parsons, a brother, Vernon Parsons and a sister, Priscilla Parsons. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at the Silver Memorial Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Parsons and Rev. Dennis Parsons officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pecks Mills, WV at 3 p.m. Friends may call on Tuesday, July 4, 2006 from 7-9 p.m. at the Silver Memorial Freewill Baptist Church.
