Juanita I. Wood

Juanita I. Wood, 83, of Gallipolis, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Holzer Assisted Living in Gallipolis. Juanita was born on February 23, 1935 in Vinton, Ohio, daughter of the late McGarvey and Gladys Webb Ice. She was an elementary trained school teacher and for many years a member of the Chapel Hill Church of Christ. She was married to Harland S. “Woody” Wood, and he preceded her in death in 2006. Juanita was also preceded in death by a son, Robert A. Wood; a son-in-law, Terrence Guy; a brother, Rhoderick Ice; and a sister, Lorna Simmons. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Ellen Guy of Gallipolis; grandchildren, Jacob (Kathrine) Wood, Nathan Wood, Kelsi Wood, and Rachael Wood; great grandchildren, David Wood, Terrell, Braylon, and Traecyn; three sisters, Rosemarie (Dale) Hobbs of Underwood, Indiana, Carol (Larry) Foote of New Brunswick, Ohio, and Phoebe Carey of Crown City, Ohio; two brothers, Kromer (Mary) Ice of Hendersonville, Tennessee and Fred (Zita) Ice of California; sister-in-law, Gwen Ice of Philippi, West Virginia; and a brother-in-law, Roger Simmons of Dayton, Ohio, along with several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. The funeral service for Juanita will be 7 pm Friday, October 12, 2018 at Willis Funeral Home with Minister Tim Gainer officiating. Friends may call on Friday at the funeral home from 6 pm until the time of the service. Burial service will be 2 pm Monday, October 15, 2018 at Old Pine Cemetery.
