Judge David T. Evans

Judge David T. Evans, 67, formerly of Gallipolis, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. He was born October 4, 1947 in Gallipolis, son of the late J. Tim and Betty L. Rothgeb Evans. David was a 1965 GAHS graduate and graduated at the top of his class from Ohio Northern University, College of Law. He began his law career as Assistant District Attorney in Gallipolis, had a private law practice prior to being elected Judge for the 4th District Court of Appeals. David was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, a member of Gallipolis Elks Lodge #107 and the Cheshire Masonic Lodge, Siloan Chapter #456. He enjoyed family, traveling, the Buckeyes and Fox News especially Bill O’Reilly. Surviving are Beth S. Evans of Worthington; three children, Nicole (Pat) Porter of Worthington, John Everette (Virginia) Evans III of Phoenix, Arizona and Kimberly L. (Billy) Thomas of Worthington; four grandchildren, Lucy and Sadie Porter and Evan and Ian Thomas; and one sister, Martha (Dr. Robert) Huestis of Columbus. Services will be 2:30 p.m., Sunday, February 1, 2015 at the Grace United Methodist Church with Pastor Bill Thomas. Burial will follow in Mound Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00 – 2:15 p.m. prior to the funeral at the church. Although David was not a veteran in lieu of flowers, please make donations to our local veteran’s organizations.
