Kate Elberfeld Blosser

Kate Elberfeld Blosser, 44, of Bidwell, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Holzer Medical Center. She was born February 24, 1971 in Gallipolis, daughter of the late Stephan R. and Beverly Vandale Elberfeld. Kate was a nurses aid at Holzer Clinic. Surviving are her husband, Lenny Blosser, of Bidwell, whom she married on September 1, 2007; a son, Jacob Stephan McCormick of Bidwell; a daughter, Hannah Nichole McCormick of Bidwell; a sister, Rebecca Bliss Elberfeld (Jack) Hoge of New Knoxville, Ohio; in-laws, Charlie and Shirley Blosser of Cumberland, Ohio and Jim and Jeri Allie of Gallipolis; sisters-in-law, Nichole (Joey) Ferris of Columbus, Jamie (Scott) Payne of Vinton, Jessica (Dale) Taylor of Bidwell; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. In addition to her parents, Kate was preceded in death by her first husband, Michael A. McCormick on April 18, 2002. Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 18, 2016 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Mullins officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery, Pomeroy, Ohio. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, January 17, 2016 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Dale Taylor, Scott Payne, Joey Ferris, Jarrod Mullins, Dean Rees and Jon Davis. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Kate’s memory to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 8050 Hosbrook Road, Suite 314, Cincinnati, OH 45236, whose motto is” Improving Lives, Curing Type 1 Diabetes”. This organization was dear to Kate.
