Kevin Layne Kuhn II

January 24, 1982 — December 2, 2025

Kevin Layne Kuhn II, 43, of Gallipolis, Ohio, passed away after a long battle with illness on December 2, 2025. Born January 24, 1982, Kevin was the son of Kevin Layne Kuhn I and Mary Elizabeth Chapman.

Kevin graduated from Gallia Academy in 2000 and later earned his Bachelor of Business Management Degree, a Diploma of Accounting, a Diploma of Computer Science, and a Diploma of Microsoft Systems. He worked as a Parts Book Author for Fletchers in Huntington, West Virginia.

On October 6, 2007, Kevin married the love of his life, Rachel Kuhn, and together they shared two beautiful sons: Raistlin Layne Vernon Kuhn and Caramon Matthew Kuhn. To say Kevin was a loving father does not do him justice. His pride centered on his sons. Kevin’s pride, unique humor, and sense of adventure were shared with his Alpha Eta Omega fraternity brothers throughout his life. Kevin participated in many gaming communities, from tabletop games to digital gaming to sports. He loved playing hockey in his teens, proudly earning the nickname “Buddah” for his quiet nature and stocky build. This silent nature made him seem distant at first, but once he opened up, he would treat them like family, unleashing pranks and questionable humor, as his co-workers at Fletchers know all too well. Kevin leaves behind a majestic beard legacy, too many friends, family, and chosen family to list. His life touched many, and to quote one of his favorite songs, he “Diggy Diggy Hole” into all hearts he touched.

Kevin was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jerry and Nancy Mullins; grandmother, Violet Neal; step-grandfather, Steve Neal; and a half sister, Heather Ann. In addition to his wife and sons, he is survived by his parents; his step-mother Ginny Kuhn; a sister, Teri "Sis" Kuhn; half-sisters Emma Kuhn, Krystil Painter, and Marie Best; half-brother Nathaniel Cowen; grandfather, Charlie Willard (Judy) Kuhn; as well as uncles Charlie Lee (Rona) Kuhn, John Mullins, and Jerry Mullins.

Services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
