Larry G. Duke, 70, of Gallipolis, passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at the Holzer Medical Center. He was born July 27, 1940 in Ironton, Ohio, son of the late Kathleen Barry and Delbert N. Martin. Larry was married to Doris Bevan and she survives him. He was the owner, operator of Larry Duke Trucking and he was a farmer. He was a member of Patriot Masonic Lodge #496 and he enjoyed hunting. Surviving him are his wife, Doris Duke of Gallipolis; one daughter, Diana (Gail) Drummond of Bidwell; two sons, Larry E. Bubby (Carla) Duke and Jim Lee (Brenda) Duke, both of Gallipolis; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; one sister, Marva (Basil) Bailey of Gallipolis; an aunt, Doris Montgomery of Gallipolis and several nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his son, Gene Allen Duke in 1992, his mother, Kathleen Martin in 1976 and his stepfather, Delbert N. Martin in 1989. Services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 17, 2011 at the Willis Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in Good Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, January 16, 2011 from 3-6 p.m. There will be a Masonic service at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Junior Trout, Basil Bailey, Gail Drummond, Richard Northup, Delbert Duke, Robert Drummond and Josh Meeker.
