Larry W. Elkins, 70, of Bidwell, Ohio passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Holzer Senior Care in Gallipolis. Born on January 21, 1948 in Gallia County, Ohio, Larry was the son of the late Tony and Hazel Jackson Elkins. On December 31, 1980, Larry married Shirley Benjamin Elkins, who survives him in Bidwell. Larry and Shirley had just celebrated thirty-eight years of marriage. He was a retired project superintendent for Kinsale Construction Company. Larry was a member of Carpenters Local Union #650- Pomeroy, Ohio, Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Ohio- Findlay Lodge No. 227, and Loyal Order of Moose- Point Pleasant WV Lodge 731. Larry was also a U.S. Army veteran who served in Germany. Larry is survived by his wife, Shirley Elkins; sons, Larry (Theresa) Elkins, Jr. of Columbus, Ohio and Leslie Ray (Michele) Elkins of Columbus, Ohio; daughter, Lisa (Mark) Spires of Gallipolis; stepson, Steve (Vickie) Tyson of Struthers, Ohio; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sister, Bonnie Davis of Gallipolis; brother, Lester (Shirley Ann) Elkins of Zanesville, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Elkins. The funeral service for Larry Elkins will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Heath Jenkins officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A private burial will be in Poplar Ridge Cemetery where Larry will be honored with military services by the Gallia County Funeral Detail.
