Larry W. Jarrell

Larry W. Jarrell, Sr., 79, of Gallipolis, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2026 at his residence.

Born on August 24, 1946 in Kayford, West Virginia, Larry was the son of the late Ralph Wayne and Marlene Frye Jarrell. Larry attended East Bank High School in West Virginia, served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam, worked for Crown City Mining, and later retired as the Foreman on the Repair Fleet for the Army Corps of Engineers in Huntington, West Virginia. He loved NASCAR and was a Dale Earnhardt fan; he enjoyed farming, hunting, and watching his son truck pull.

Larry is survived by his son, Larry (Bev) Jarrell, Jr. of Gallipolis; daughter, Michelle Jarrell (Kenny Caudill) of Bidwell, Ohio; three grandchildren, Dalton (Chelsea) Jarrell, Kenton Ramsey (Alexus), and Craigory Long (Hannah); great-grandchildren, Tyson, Macey, Miley, and Kenna; brother, James "Jay" (Judy) Jarrell of Bidwell, Ohio; sister, Marla Hensley of Athens, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by a mother who raised him, Mona Jarrell; two brothers, Ralph Michael Jarrell and Charles Steve Jarrell; sisters, Priscilla Henson and Debra Scott; former wife and mother of his children, Karen Jarrell; and special friend for many years, Debbie Belville.

The funeral service for Larry will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 16, 2026 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Beau Miller officiating. Military rites will be given by the Gallia County Honor Guard. Committal services will be at 2:00 p.m. in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens in Glasgow, West Virginia. Friends may call on Sunday, February 15, 2026 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A Masonic Service will be observed following the visitation at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Dalton Jarrell, Tyson Jarrell, Kenton Ramsey, Craig Long, Jay Jarrell, and Tim Wright.
