Laura B. “Boo” Crabtree, 102, of Gallipolis, OH passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Holzer Senior Care, Gallipolis, OH. She was born September 1, 1913 on a small farm near Limeton, VA, daughter of Emmit and Marian Rouzee Johnson. Laura was married to Gerald “Bud” Crabtree and he preceded her in death in 1987. She was a homemaker. Surviving are her two sons, David (Carol) Crabtree of Gallipolis and Gerald R. (Isabella) Crabtree of Woodside, CA, two grandchildren, David (Linda) Crabtree Jr. of Acworth, Georgia and Amy (David) Bleser of San Antonio, Texas; and 5 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband “Bud” Crabtree, Laura was preceded in death by her two sisters, Juanita Thompson and Virginia Tremble. Laura moved from Limeton to Wellsburg, WV to find employment. There she met and married Bud Crabtree. They then raised their family in Wellsburg. During this time there were many trips back to the farm at Limeton. All of the family have wonderful memories of time spent at Laura’s childhood home. Bud passed away in 1987 and Laura moved to Gallipolis shortly after that. The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Holzer Senior Care for taking excellent care of her during her final days Local visitation will be Wednesday, February 3, 2016 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Willis Funeral Home in Gallipolis. Final services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 4, 2016 at the Chambers Funeral Home, 1030 Main Street, Wellsburg, WV . Burial will follow in Franklin Cemetery.Family and friends will be received on Thursday, February 4, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at the Chambers Funeral Home.
