Lawrence V. Tackett

Lawrence V. “Larry” Tackett, 74, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Arbors at Gallipolis. Born on January 30, 1947 in Boone County, West Virginia, Larry was the son of the late Melburn C. and Doris E. Ellis Tackett. Larry married Peggy A. Casey Tackett, who survives him in Gallipolis. He retired from GDC and later drove Senior Citizens. Larry was a United States Army Vietnam veteran and a member of Debbie Drive Chapel. Larry is survived by his wife, Peggy A. Casey Tackett of Gallipolis; sons, Mark Tackett (Denise Goodrich) of Patriot, Ohio and Scott (Tiffany) Tackett of Huntington, West Virginia; and four grandsons, Matthew, Caleb, Josh, and Dakota. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by a brother, Chuck Tackett. The funeral service for Larry will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Junior Preston officiating. Burial will follow in Patriot Cemetery, where military rites will be given by the Gallia County Funeral Detail. Friends may call prior to the service from 12:00-1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Those in attendance are asked to follow the CDC guidelines of practicing social distancing and are required to follow the Ohio mandate of wearing face masks. VIEW WEBCAST
