Lona "Tunnie" Clary

Lona “Tunnie” Clary, 95 of the Mercerville Community died on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born August 18, 1920 in Kentuck, WV the daughter of the late Peter and Margie Hunt Parsons. Tunnie married Floyd F. Clary on November 18, 1939 and he preceded her in death on May 18, 1999. She was an avid quilter and loved to cook and bake. She enjoyed planning and attending family gatherings and family reunions where she was especially known for her black raspberry jam cake with caramel icing. Surviving are her daughters and Son-in-law: Rosalie Waugh of Mercerville, Faye and Bob Pickett of Blacklick, OH and Lona Mae Houck of Gallipolis. Sons and Daughters-in-law: Frank and Pam Clary of Mercerville, John and Susan Clary of Pataskala, Oh, Dicky and Linda Clary of Crown City, 12 Grandchildren, 24 Great Grandchildren and 19 Great Great Grandchildren. Sisters Gracie Caldwell of Pataskala , Oh and Naomi “Cissie” Whitt of Crown City and a brother-in-law Alvin Mooney of Crown City. In addition to her parents, and husband Floyd F. Clary “Tunnie” was preceded in death by Sisters: Verbie Waugh and Dollie Mooney, Brothers: Leslie, Wilmer, Sherman and Auvil Parsons. Granddaughter, Rhonda Pyles Toney and son-in-law, Gene Waugh and her best friend Emogene Swain. Services will be at 1:00 pm Sunday, December 27, 2015 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Alfred Holley officiating. Burial will follow in the Ridgelawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, December 26, 2015 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and Great Grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
