Lonnie G. Browning

Lonnie G. Browning, 86, of Patriot, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Thursday , August 14, 2025 at Arbors at Gallipolis.

He was born on May 18, 1939 in Verner, West Virginia. Lonnie was the son of Landon and Effie Mae Lester Browning. Lonnie was a very hard working man, he was a Contractor for Island Creek Coal Company, in addition, he owned his own Logging Company in West Virginia before moving to Ohio. After moving to Ohio, Lonnie became a Farmer and also worked at Dyer Brothers where he retired.

Lonnie faithfully served his family as a husband, loving father, brother, and papaw. He was a member of the Silver Memorial FWB Church.

Lonnie is survived by his four children, Londell (Martha) Browning of Patriot, Lisa Lester of Patriot, Robbie Browning of Patriot, and Sherri Hall of Gallipolis; two sisters, Millie Cyrus of Elyria, Ohio and Ruth Browning of Parma, Ohio; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Lonnie was preceded in death by his Loving wife Fredda Kilgore Browning, daughter Susan Lester; step-son Bernie Richard Kilgore; brothers, Delmas Browning, Ernie Browning, Michael Landon Browning, Rondal Ray Browning, and Bobby Gale Browning.

The funeral service for Lonnie will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 18, 2025 at Willis Funeral Home with Rev. Brandon Browning and Rev. Mickey Browning officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. His burial will follow at Neal Cemetery.
