Lyle Shillington

Lyle Shillington, 75, of Gallipolis, Ohio, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2026 at Holzer Medical Center in Jackson, Ohio.

Son of the late Clark and Loretta Rieland Shillington, Lyle was born on December 20, 1950 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. After serving his country in the Navy, Lyle relocated to Gallipolis where he later met his wife, Diana. They married on May 31, 1974 at St. Louis Catholic Church, and shared 52 years of marriage together before his passing. She survives him in Gallipolis. Lyle worked as an X-ray technician for more than 40 years at Holzer Medical Center. He enjoyed hunting, bowling, and spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Lyle is survived by a daughter, Erin Shillington (Byron Welch, Jr.) of Jeffersonville, Kentucky; a son, Alan (Katlyn) Shillington of Charlotte, Iowa; grandchildren, Brody Welch, Karahline Shillington, Hunter Shillington, and Raylan Shillington; sisters, Linda McGrath of Clarion, Iowa, Marilyn (Larry) Anderson of Clarion, Iowa, and Paula (Barney) McClaskey of Green Valley, Arizona; mother-in-law, Hilda Haner of Gallipolis, Ohio; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

The funeral services for Lyle will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 12, 2026 at Willis Funeral Home with Father Tom Hamm officiating. Burial will follow in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery. After the burial, a meal will be prepared at St. Louis Catholic Church Fellowship Hall, and all are welcome to attend. Friends and family may be received on Sunday, October 11, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Willis Funeral Home.
