Mabel Mohler, 94, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away on Friday, November 27, 2015 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. She was born on June 3, 1921 in Bidwell, Ohio, daughter of the late E.N.P. “Nate” and Addye Jane (Davis) Morehouse. Mabel was a Registered Nurse having graduated from the Holzer School of Nursing. Mabel was also a World War II veteran serving in the Army Nurse Corps. During her husband's military career, she lived throughout the continental United States and Alaska, where she worked as an obstetrics nurse, enjoyed camping, fishing, reading and teaching Sunday School. Mabel returned to Gallia County to care for her parents and was employed as the school nurse for Rio Grande College and was their Health Administrator. She received her B.S. Degree from Rio Grande College in Social Work and worked for Guardian Services. She was a member of the Bidwell United Methodist Church. She is survived by a daughter Wanda Ray of Gallipolis and a son David (Jennilee) Mohler of Walbridge, Ohio, 9 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Lewis H. Mohler, Sr., a great grandson, one sister Pearle Allen, one brother E. Paul Morehouse, and an infant sister Jessie Pauline Morehouse. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 20, 2015 at New Life Lutheran Church, 170 New Life Way, Gallipolis, OH.
