Mable M. Roush, 85, of Gallipolis, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2017 at her residence. She was born August 25, 1931 in Casstown, Miami County, Ohio, daughter of the late John S. and Mary Belle Waugh Smith. Mable married George E. Roush and he preceded her in death on August 26, 2013. Mable had been employed at Holzer Hospital, Bob Evans Sausage Plant and French City Meats. She loved collecting dolls, crocheting, making Memorial Day flowers and helping people. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy Maynard Bryant and Greg Bryant and her son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Teresa Spurlock, all of Gallipolis; a grandson, Austin Spurlock of Florida; a granddaughter, Tara (Jessie) Retmier of Bidwell; a great granddaughter, Jacy Maynard of Gallipolis; her brother, John R. “Johnny Bob” (Marty) Smith of Gallipolis; half brother, Carl Henry (Sara) Smith of Pt. Pleasant, WV; stepbrother, Stanley (Cindy) Taylor of Gallipolis; stepsister, Debbie (Roger) Sparks of Kansas; and lots of special nephews, nieces and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, George E. Roush, Mable is preceded in death by a grandson, Shawn Maynard, a granddaughter, Heather, a brother Raymond Smith, sisters Pluma Call, Goldie Shriver and Mary Reeves. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 17, 2017 at the Willis Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in Mina Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Tara Retmier, Eddie Shriver, John Henry Shriver, Jason Shriver, Jared Vernon, and David Young. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Smith and Carmel Osborne. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Mable’s memory to the Gallipolis Shrine Club/Children’s Hospital Fund.
