Macel Alexander, 91, of Bidwell went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Holzer Assisted Living in Gallipolis. Born on April 5, 1927 in Clarksburg, West Virginia, Macel was the daughter of the late Ray and Eunice Smith Tompkins. Macel married Ellis Alexander, who preceded her in death on May 13, 2007. She was a member of the Nazarene Church in Grayson and attended White Oak Church and Harris Baptist Church. Macel enjoyed cooking and spoiling her family. Macel is survived by her daughter, Susan (Robert) Scott of Bidwell; grandson, Robert “Scotty” (Shannon) Scott of Bidwell; and great grandchildren, Cameron (Ashley) Scott and Madison Scott and her fiancé Robert Roush and his son, Brayden Roush; great great granddaughter, Eva Scott; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Macel was preceded in death by two sisters, Swannha Peal and Virginia Felix and one brother, James Tompkins. The funeral service for Macel will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Willis Funeral Home with her grandson Pastor Scotty officiating. Friends may call prior to the service from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A private burial will be observed by the family in Gravel Hill Cemetery.
