Marilyn Lee (Dutch) Chapman, 82, of Gallipolis, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Abbyshire Place in Bidwell, Ohio surrounded by her family.
She was born on July 24, 1943, in Delaware, Ohio to the late Marion and Lela Vincent. Marilyn was a homemaker, an avid gardener, and a bingo player. She enjoyed spending time with her family and having family dinners. She was married to the late Glen R. Chapman on December 22, 1968, in Crown City, Ohio.
Marilyn is survived by her children Barbara Boyd of Marion, Ohio, Bryan Graham of Marion, Ohio, Autumn Chapman of Ridgeway, Ohio, Mark (Joyce) Chapman of Gallipolis, Ohio, Amber (Thomas) Estep Jr. of Newark, Ohio, Matthew Chapman of Gallipolis, Ohio, Marshall (Malori) Chapman of Gallipolis, Ohio, and Andrea (Brandon) Chapman of Gallipolis, Ohio; stepchildren, Luke (Shirley) Chapman of Sycamore, Ohio, Ron Chapman of Sycamore, Ohio, Barbara (Allen) Stansbery of Harpster, Ohio, and Marsha (Richard) Mullholand of Tiffin, Ohio; sisters, Carolyn Burk of Indian Lake, Ohio and Marjorie Merchant of Tyler, Texas; and brothers, James (Jan) Vincent of Urbana, Ohio, Marvin Vincent of Jacksonville, Florida, and Rex Vincent of Richwood, Ohio; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Chapman; her parents, Marion Vincent and Lela Clapham; sister, Patricia (Pat) Wilson; brothers, Marion (Butch) Vincent and Bill (Mike) Vincent; stepdaughter, Gypsy (Marie) Chapman; granddaughter, Lela Carpenter; and great granddaughter, Arielle Chapman.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Willis Funeral Home, 12 Garfield Avenue, Gallipolis, Ohio. Funeral services will be on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel, 621 W 5th Street, Marysville, Ohio, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Jane Hileman officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Marilyn’s burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, 334 S Sandusky Street, Delaware, Ohio 43015. Instead of riding in procession, friends and family will reconvene in Oak Grove Cemetery on Friday, September 12, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. for committal services.
