Marshall M. Burnett, 92, of Gallipolis, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2007 at his residence. He was born on May 19, 1914 in Mercerville, Ohio son of the late Mark and Cora Caldwell Burnett. Marshall married Louise Wood on July 10, 1947 in Kentucky and she survives him. He was a former junior high school teacher at Kyger Creek and he retired as an advertising salesman for the Kaeser-Blair Company. Marshall was a World War II Army Air Corp veteran. Surviving him are his wife, Louise Burnett of Gallipolis; a daughter, Joy Rick Fisher of Pickerington; a son, Wes M. Burnett of Gallipolis; five grandchildren, Marcus Carter of Canal Winchester, Lora Floyd and Benjamin Robeano, both of Reynoldsburg, Jeffrey Burnett and Corey Burnett, both of Gallipolis; twelve great grandchildren; and a brother, Buell G. Burnett of Bidwell. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers – Ervin, Carroll, Cecil, Homer, Granville, and Luther Burnette; and three sisters – Kathryn Burnette, Juhl Brumfield, and Mary M. Swick. Graveside services will be 1 p.m., Thursday, May 10, 2007 at Mound Hill Cemetery with Pastor Alfred Holley officiating. Friends may call at the Willis Funeral Home from 12 noon till 1 p.m., prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Wes Burnett, Rick Fisher, Jeff Burnett, Ben Robeano, Marc Carter, and Ronnie Burnette. There will be a flag presentation at the graveside by volunteers of local area veteran’s organizations.
