Mary Doris Brumfield Vance

Mary Doris Brumfield Vance. 86, died Wednesday, August 19 in El Paso, Texas. Mary was born in Columbus, Ohio on April 22, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Vianna (nee Sumpter) and Sheridan Brumfield. She spent her childhood in the hills of Lecta, Ohio and raised her seven children in the Gallipolis and surrounding areas. She filled her children’s lives with love and stories of her youth: from Mudsoc School to a cat named “Old Blue”. She is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers: Ray, Floyd, George and Bernerd Brumfield; and her son, Harold Eugene Myers. She is survived by her children: Raymond (Teresa) Myers of Marion, Ohio; Marcella Myers Wortham of El Paso, Texas; Malcolm Myers of Dayton, Ohio; Nathan Vance, Felicia Vance (Jerome) Gustaitis, and Aaron Vance all of El Paso, Texas. She had 16 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. A service will be held at Okey Christian Chapel in Lecta, Ohio on September 19, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Eugene Harmon officiating.
