Mavis Ann McClain, 69, of Bidwell, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2015 at the Holzer Medical Center. She was born September 11, 1945 in Gallia County, daughter of the late Calvin “Shorty” and Florence Haner Caldwell. She was a U.S. Army veteran. Ann was a former employee of the Gallia County Senior Citizens. Surviving are her daughter, Ruth Kirby; four sisters, Irene (Okey) Martin, Frances Hayden, and Maxine Jones, all of Gallipolis and Brenda (Arnold) Jackson of Bidwell; five brothers, Earl Caldwell of Gallipolis, Leroy (Opal) Caldwell of Bidwell, Ferrell Caldwell of Gallipolis, Frank (Wilma) Caldwell and Howard (Ruby) Caldwell, both of Bidwell; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ann is preceded in death by brothers, Calvin Jr., Marlin and Bob and sisters, Janet Cox, Marie Spires, Jewell Caldwell, and Pauline Taylor. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Gene Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow in Campaign Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-7:00 p.m., Friday, January 9, 2015 at the funeral home. There will be a military service at the graveside.
