Melvin R. Halley

Melvin R. Halley, 86, of Northup, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at his residence. Melvin was born on June 23, 1939 in Gallia County, Ohio, son of the late Loren and Maridel Saunders Halley. He spent his younger years farming, always trying to raise the best.

Melvin married Betty Walter Halley, and she survives him in Northup. He is also survived by one daughter, Connie (Phil) Koebel and one son, Melvin Halley, Jr.; grandchildren, Steven (Jessica) Koebel and Jason Koebel; and great-grandchildren, Abbeygale, Nickalas, Zackary, Luke, Juliette, and Tayte Koebel. In addition to his parents, Melvin was preceded in death by his brother, James Everett Halley and by two brothers in infancy.

The funeral service for Melvin will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Donnie Johnson officiating. His burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.
