Michael Monroe Baird

Michael Monroe Baird, 61, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at his residence. Born on December 15, 1957 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, Mike was the son of the late Marvin Wayne and Dorothy M. Day Baird. On July 4, 2001, Mike married Brenda George Baird, who survives him. He was retired from operating Gallipolis Auto Wrecking Junk Yard. Mike enjoyed working on cars; he also enjoyed his grandchildren and watching TV westerns. Mike is survived by his wife, Brenda Baird; children, Michelle (Michael) Macomber of Port Orchard, Washington, Rebecca (Robert) Merrill of Gallipolis, Matthew M. (Crystal) Baird of Cheshire, and Amanda Gail Baird of Odenton, Maryland; stepchildren, Michael Shawn Baird of Daytona Beach, Florida, Mary Kay (Jonathan) Rupe of Bidwell, and Patty McGuire of Bidwell; twenty-three grandchildren; one great grandchild; siblings, Hope Armstrong of Orlinda, Tennessee, Patty (Tom) Sims of Camden, Ohio, Gail Baird of Gallipolis, Phil (Tanya) Baird of Gallipolis, Charles “Cricket” (Bibber) Baird of Gallipolis, Sarah Cheney of Gallipolis, Marvin (Phyllis) Baird of Gallipolis, John (Ellen) Baird of Nevada, Linda (Richard) Macias of Gallipolis, and Louise Woodall of Gallipolis; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his siblings, Regina and Ore Baird. A memorial service for Mike Baird will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Willis Funeral Home with Marvin Baird officiating.
