Michael O. Whittaker

Michael O. Whittaker, 71, of Patriot, Ohio, passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at his home. Born on February 8, 1955 in Ironton, Ohio, Michael was the son of the late Odell and Alene Green Whittaker. Michael was a retired truck driver from the Gallia County Highway Department, and was a farmer throughout his entire life. On February 29, 1980, he married his wife, Brenda, and together they shared 46 years of marriage.

In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by grandparents Evie Green, Tressie Green, and Lola Owens. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Whittaker of Patriot, Ohio; a sister, Regina (Art) Brown of Patriot, Ohio; a nephew, Eric (Alana) Fraley of Patriot, Ohio; two great-nephews, Brayden Martin and Bryant Martin of Patriot, Ohio; special friends and neighbor, Brad Cliffinger, Kim Lloyd, Cheryl Ruff, and Dave (Judy) Lambert, all of Patriot, Ohio; his best fur friend, Rusty; as well as a host of cousins, extended family, and friends.

The funeral services for Michael will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2026 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Jane Ann Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Horeb Cemetery in Oak Hill, Ohio. Friends and family may be received at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until time of services.
