Nancy J. Buttrick

Nancy Jane Buttrick, 75, of Gallipolis, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at her home with her daughters by her side. Nancy was born on August 31, 1949, daughter of the late James "Herb" and Mable Warren McQuaid.

Nancy was devoted to her children and grandchildren; she loved them unconditionally. She took on the role of being a caregiver many times throughout her life, from taking care of many family members to retiring from Abbyshire Nursing Home/Center.

In her younger years, Nancy enjoyed riding and barrel racing her horses. She was faithful to the Lord, and her life was a beautiful testimony. Nancy attended Promised Land Church where she considered her pastor and church members as family.

Nancy is survived by her daughters, Marilyn (Norman) Shafer, Carla Lambert, and Sasha Buttrick; her sons, Kevin (Nikki) Lambert and Roger (Tiffany) Buttrick; her sister, Oni Harrison; step daughters, Tammy Harrison, Cathy Johnson, and Charity Angel; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and exteded family members; her life-long friend, Mary Cook; and her pet dog companion, Chico.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia "jenny" Sanders; three brothers, James "Jimmy" McQuaid, Dave McQuaid, and Danny McQuaid; and a granddaughter, Katelyn Shafer

The funeral service for Nancy will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Truman Johnson officiating. Her burial will follow in Centenary Cemetery. Friends and family may call on Wednesday from noon until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Justin Lambert, Norman Shafer III, Peytan Haner, Kody Lambert, Kole Lambert, and Layton Matney.
