Nancy Frances (Drummond) Warren, 90, of Clay Township, Ohio, passed into a faithful repose on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. She lived the last years of her life with her son, Jerry, who was devoted to her care and well-being. The last days were spent at Abbyshire Place where Jerry continued to enjoy hours daily with his mother assisting with her care.
Nancy was blessed with a long and loving marriage to James Lorten Warren for fifty years until his passing in 2005. They had three sons: Calvin (Carol), David (Othella), and Jerry and four grandchildren: Ketisha, Angela, Robyn, and S.J. There are six great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; a last remaining first cousin, Sara Nell Adkins of West Virginia; twenty-six nieces and nephews, most notably Shirley Beaver, Bobby Cook, and Audry Hatten; and a host of friends and neighbors, most notably Kay Estep, Mike Brown, and the Steele family.
Nancy was born on April 15, 1935 during rare springtime blizzard in the lower part of the county. Her parents were Harry Clifford and Murlie Celeste Johnson Drummond. She dearly loved her parents, but sadly lost her mother at only four years of age, always clinging to those memories of her mother and speaking of them often. Her Aunt Zoni Johnson Corn moved in to help care for her young niece. She made a sock doll that Nancy cherished throughout her life. Unfortunately, Aunt Zoni passed after a few months. It was like the loss of another mother. From then, her sister, Amy, stepped up as a pseudo mother figure.
Nancy’s late grandparents were Samuel Sylvester and Nancy Ann (Ferrell) Drummond and William and Missouri Frances (Mart) Johnson. She was always especially pleased to have been named after her grandmothers.
Nancy’s siblings all preceded her in death, Clifford Forest (Thelma) Drummond, Minnie Vashatie (Wayne) Harrison, Edith Mae in infancy, Marshall Paul “Pete” (Casey) Drummond, Arthur “Art” (Dorothy) Drummond, Myrtle Fae (Dale) Kemper, Harley “Bunk” (Jean) Drummond, Amy Arizona (Orville) Sexton, Thomas “Tommy” (Virginia) Drummond, and Opal Marie (Charles Lee) Barcus.
Nancy enjoyed a wonderful relationship with her in-laws who departed many years ago, Wye Warren and Erie and Garnet Waugh Phillips.
Nancy’s greatest lessons were by her quiet actions. As the world waxed worse, she never did, instead always valuing everyone. She accepted her Lord and Savior applying His statutes to her life. Our beautiful and kindly mother is with her Lord for ages unto ages. May her memory be eternal!
