Nellie R. Shank

Nellie R. Shank, 83, of Gallipolis, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the Holzer Medical Center. She was born and raised Flowery Branch, Georgia, daughter of the late John Henry Clayton and Ethel Herrington Overby. Nellie moved to Ohio when she was 17 years old. She was a secretary for Gene Plants Plumbing for 25 years. Nellie is survived by her husband Glenn Shank of Gallipolis, a daughter Vickie (Romey) Swanson of Bidwell, step children Beverly Buckle of West Virginia, Melba Shank of Florida, and Greg Shank of West Virginia, grandchildren Melissa (Richard) Huffman of Gallipolis, and Adam (Karen) Allie of Georgetown, KY, great grandchildren Ashlee Huffman, R.J. Huffman, Caleb Patterson, Rhema and Daniel Allie, step grandchildren Jared, Luca, Brandon, and Bryan, step great grandchildren Anna, Connor and Mya, a sister Eulah Jean “Peggy” Phillips of Flowery Branch, Georgia, nephews Ricky, Tony and Darrell Phillips. Nellie was preceded in death by a son Gary Curtis Roach. Committal services will be held 4 pm Sunday, January 3, 2016 at the Chapel of Hope at Ohio Valley Memory Gardens for family and friends with Pastor Alfred Holley officiating.
