Oley A. Angel

Oley A. Angel, 52, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Select Specialty Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Born on June 29, 1971 in Gallipolis, Ohio, Oley was the son of the late Oley Z. “Buckshot” Angel and Carolyn Glover Angel, who survives him in Gallipolis. He was a believer in God and gave his life to God. Oley graduated from Gallia Academy High School Class of 1990. He loved watching Ohio State football, NASCAR, and “Street Outlaws.” Oley enjoyed family gathering and riding four wheelers.

Oley is survived by his mother, Carolyn Angel of Gallipolis; his wife, Rachael Angel of Columbus; nineteen year old daughter, Madison P. Angel; stepchildren he always loved, Danny Finley, Tanya Cantrell, and Ryan Cantrell; sisters, Paula Valentine and Lenora Shortridge; nephews, Josh (Iesha) Shortridge and Jesse Gardner; nieces, Lisa Shortridge, Shana Johnson, Courtney Valentine, and Brittany Angel; many uncles, aunts, and cousins from all over; and special friends, Rhonda Stepp and Travis Chapman.

In addition to his father, Oley was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas L. Angel; his grandparents, Samuel and Nora Glover and Elmer and Dorothy Angel; and his brothers-in-law, David Valentine and Timothy Shortridge.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Church of Christ in Christian Union with Pastor Ben Polley officiating.
