Olive L. Brown

Olive L. Brown, 83, of Gallipolis, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at Scenic Hills Nursing Center. She was born on July 16, 1922 in Cabell County, West Virginia to the late Omar and Eugenia Wright Saunders. She was married to Merrill E. Brown and he preceded her in death in 1986. Olive was a former sales person for G.C. Murphy Co. She was a member of Chapel Hill Church of Christ. She loved traveling by train and enjoyed bluegrass music. Surviving are three sisters, Beulah Stone of Cincinnati, Grace Jim Funk of Monticello, Florida, Ethel Saunders of Gallipolis; two brothers, Herman Jenny Saunders and Albert Coreena Saunders, both of Gallipolis; a special niece raised in the home, Janice Kay Sweesy of Gallipolis; several other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Merrill E. Brown, three sisters, Marie Slagle, Naomi Louise Saunders, Fern Henry and one brother, Garland Saunders. Services will be on Friday, November 18, 2005 at 1 p.m. at the Willis Funeral Home with Minister Lewis Mikell and Minister Danny Douglas officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, November 17, 2005 from 6-8 p.m. Pallbearers will be Kevin Saunders, Kent Saunders, Rick Saunders, Doug Saunders, Randy Saunders and Chuck Rife.
