Opal Pauline Taylor

Opal Pauline (Caldwell) Taylor, 64, of North Fort Myers, Florida, formerly of Gallia County, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2011 at her daughters residence. She was born October 19, 1946 in Gallia County, daughter of the late Calvin Shorty and Florence Haner Caldwell. Growing up she was a member of Cooks Chapel Church, later transferring membership to First Church of the Nazarene, Gallipolis. Her faith in the Lord never wavered even till the end. Her favorite scripture was Isaiah 40:31, which was why she loved her eagles so. Pauline was a hard worker and devoted mother. Her children and grandchildren were her life. Pauline suffered 3 strokes and moved to Florida so her daughter could help care for her. She was diagnosed in March 2010 with cancer. Pauline fought the cancer 9 months but had to give up the battle. On January 2, 2011, she gave up the battle and went home to be with her Lord and Saviour. Surviving are her two children, daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Dave Stewart of North Fort Myers, Florida and son and daughter-in-law, David and Jesse Taylor of Crown City, OH; five grandchildren, Sean Stewart, Sonya Drummond, Jenna, Matthew and Caleb Taylor; one great granddaughter, Destiny Lemley; five brothers, Earl, Leroy, Ferrell, Frank and Howard Caldwell, all of Gallipolis; five sisters, Irene Martin, Frances Hayden, Maxine Jones, Ann McClain and Brenda Jackson, all of Gallipolis; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harley Taylor, three brothers Calvin Jr., Marlin and Bob Caldwell; and three sisters Janet Cox, Marie Spires, and Jewell Caldwell. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 7, 2011 at the Willis Funeral Home with Rev. Calvin Minnis and Pastor Gene Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow in Campaign Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, January 6, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. Pallbearers will be Dallas Martin, Steve Voreh, Robbie Caldwell, Nick Lawson, Joe Sizemore and Ronnie Jones. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jerry Taylor and Travis Taylor.
