Oral Ray Bevan, 81, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 11th, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Huntington, WV. Born February 1st, 1935 in Mercerville, Ohio, he was the son of the late Asa and Margie Bevan. He is survived by his loving wife, Georgia (Warren) Bevan, whom he married July 31st, 1965 In addition to his wife, Georgia of Crown City, he is also survived by a daughter, Tammy (Stephen) Ellis of Chesapeake, Ohio; a son, Ronald (Lori) Bevan of Crown City, Ohio; three grandchildren, Jarred Ellis of Chesapeake, Ohio; Jena Mullins and Gaten Jon Bevan, both of Crown City, Ohio; two nephews, Jim (Brenda) Duke of Gallipolis and Larry Duke Jr. of Gallipolis, Ohio; and one niece, Diane Duke Drummond of Bidwell, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Doris (Bevan) Duke; one brother, James “Jimmy” Bevan and one nephew, Gene Allen Bevan. He was employed with The Shelly Company of Thornville, Ohio for over 55 years, with several good work buddies. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 16th, 2016 at the Willis Funeral Home with Reverend Carl Black officiating. Burial will follow at Swan Creek Cemetery. Friends may call the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 15th, 2016. Pallbearers will be Jared Ellis, Gaten Bevan, Stephen Ellis, Jim Duke, Dale Duke, Tracey Chaffin, Phil Waugh and Terry Cline.
