Oscar Eugene "OE" Davies, 87, of Gallipolis, Ohio, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025, at Abbyshire Place. Oscar was born on July 25, 1938, in Patriot, Ohio, son of the late Harry and Edythe Peoples Davies.

He retired from Century Aluminum with 37 years of service as a Casting Furnace Operator. Oscar enjoyed hunting and attending ball games, and he was especially devoted to supporting his children and grandchildren at their sporting events. He loved talking about them and took great pride in their accomplishments, particularly in sports. Oscar never met a stranger and was always ready to share a smile and conversation with anyone he met.

Oscar graduated from Cadmus High School in 1956 and then enlisted and served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1959, spending most of his time in Germany. Oscar attended White Oak Baptist Church where he was saved and baptized.

On December 5, 1959, Oscar married Gloria Pollock Davies; and to this union were born four sons, Tim (Pam) Davies, Jeff Davies, David (Jennifer) Davies, and Brent Davies. Oscar is also survived by grandchildren, Ashley, Austin (Sarah), Keith (Candi), Brooke Norris (Tim), David Garnes, Derek, Caitlin, Joshua (Brittany), Kelly Pressley (Eric), Traci, Shelbie, Brionna, and Wyatt; sisters-in-law, Roxie Davies and Anna Pollock; and several nieces and nephews. Oscar was preceded in death by his sister, Alice Bowser; brother, Glenn Davies; nephew, Rick; niece, Diana; and brothers-in-law, Ronnie and Mike Pollock.

The funeral service for Oscar will be 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at Willis Funeral Home with Jane Ann Miller officiating. His burial will follow in Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends and family may call prior to the funeral on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Pallbearers will be Tim Davies, Jeff Davies, Brent Davies, Josh Davies, Keith Davies, and Austin Davies; honorary pallbearers will be David Davies and Wyatt Davies. Military rites will be given at the cemetery by the Gallia County Funeral Detail.
