Paul Northup

Paul Northup of Grove City, Ohio formerly of South Bloomfield and Gallipolis, Ohio passed away Friday, January 12, 2007, at Doctor’s West Hospital. Born September 3, 1918 to Fred and Ella O’Dell Northup of Northup, OH. Paul was a graduate of Gallia Academy High School. A veteran of World War II, served in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. English DD-696 destroyer. Retired from K & K Manufactured Homes and Scioto Estates Manufactured Housing Community, South Bloomfield, Ohio. A former member of Centenary Methodist Church Centenary, OH. Currently a member of Fellowship Baptist Church Gallipolis, Ohio. Married Madge A. Elliott on May 2, 1937, in Greenup, KY, his beloved wife of 63 years who preceded him in death on October 26, 2000. Also preceding him in death are parents Fred and Ella Northup, brother Odell Northup, and sister Mildred Harrison. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Survivors include, son Gary Northup Jennifer Petrie of Grove City, OH, granddaughters Kimberly Mark Groves of Grove City, OH and Kathy Mark Wood of Nashville, TN, daughter-in-law Carolyn Northup of Nashville, TN, great grandchildren Matthew Kimberly Groves, Adam Groves, and Spencer Groves of Grove City, OH, and Ezra Wood of Nashville, TN, sister Pearl Burnett of Gallipolis, OH and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call Sunday, January 14, 2007 at the Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, Ashville, OH from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. Calling hours Monday, January 15, 2007, will be held at the Willis Funeral Home, Gallipolis, OH from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 16, 2007, at the Willis Funeral Home with Reverend Joseph Godwin officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Hill Cemetery.
