R. Duane Null, 64, of Gallipolis, passed away at home on Thursday, October 12, 2006. He was born on July 9, 1942 in Waterloo, Ohio to the late Homer and Mary McComas Null. Duane married Helen Dickens on August 3, 1963 in Waterloo and she survives him. He was a graduate of Waterloo High School in 1960, Rio Grande College in 1964 and The Ohio State University in 1972. Duane was retired as a Licensed Physical Therapist. In his retirement, he authored the books History of Waterloo, History of Superior and History of Blackfork He was also a member of the Waterloo Masonic Lodge. Surviving are his wife, Helen Null of Gallipolis; a half sister, Edna Irene Miller of Gallipolis; a half brother, Donald Eileen Dillon of Dayton; four nieces, Judy Barcus, Janice Facemire, Denise Richards and Pam Ball; and a nephew, Doug Dillon. He was preceded in death by his parents, his half sisters, Audrey Null, Grace Tibbs, Mildred Rowe, and a niece, Susan Miller. Services will be 11 a.m., Monday, October 16, 2006 at the Willis Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Nicholas officiating. Burial will follow in Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. There will be no visitation. Pallbearers will be Al Trahan, Mike Monagahan, Jim Ingles, Neil McMahon, Robert Rodgers, and Bill Webb. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ralph Lunsford and Rodger Winebrenner.
