Ramona Lee Lewis

Ramona Lee Lewis, 85, of Pomeroy, Ohio, formerly of Gallipolis, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Arbors at Pomeroy.

Born on February 24, 1940, in Gallia County, Ohio, Ramona was the daughter of the late Robert C. and Valeda Davis Lewis. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Northland College and later returned to Ohio University to obtain her certification in special education. Ramona dedicated her career to supporting others, working at the Gallipolis Developmental Center and serving as a teacher and substitute teacher until her retirement.

Ramona was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling and swimming in her younger years. In later years, she especially appreciated the simple pleasure of dining at Tudor’s Biscuit World.

She is survived by her daughter, Katherine (Darren) Spreacker of Patriot, Ohio; granddaughter Adrienne Hurlow of Barboursville, West Virginia, and her son, River Messick; grandson Levi (Toshia) Stroop of Athens County, Ohio.

In accordance with Ramona’s wishes, there will be no public services.
