Raymond Delong, 101, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at Arbors at Gallipolis. He was born on June 1, 1913 in Lawrence County, Ohio, son of the late Theodore and Minnie Mae Huddle Delong. Raymond was retired from Battelle Memorial in Columbus, Ohio and had been a school bus driver for the Gallipolis City Schools. Raymond served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II and was an avid golfer and won many awards in the Columbus area. Raymond was married to Hazel I (Eblin) Delong and she preceded him in death on December 29, 2002. Also preceding in death were a foster daughter Debbie Hill and by his siblings, Clara, Mildred, Inez, Stella, Carrie, Otha, Tom, and Ralph. Surviving is a foster grandson raised in his home, David Lee McCormick and several nieces and nephews. Services will be noon on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Willis Funeral Home, with Pastor Alfred Holley officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Friends may call at Willis Funeral Home from 11 am until the time of services on Thursday. There will be a flag presentation at the graveside by the Gallia County Funeral Detail.
