Raymond C. Weiher, Jr.

Raymond C. Weiher, Jr., 88 of Bidwell, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia. He was born on October 20, 1930 in Allegheny County Pennsylvania, son of the late Raymond C. Weiher, Sr. and Elizabeth C. Williams Weiher. Raymond retired in 1994 from the Kyger Creek Power Plant. He enjoyed playing softball, fishing and hunting. In 2009 he was honored for being a Blood Donor Hero for the Gallia County Chapter of the American Red Cross. Raymond was also an Air Force Veteran serving during the Korean War and was a member of the Morning Dawn Masonic Lodge #7 in Gallipolis. Raymond is survived by a son Raymond C. (Debbie) Weiher, III of Russell, Kentucky and by two daughters Tami (Gary) Walter of Englewood, Ohio and Teri J. Weiher of Cross Lanes, West Virginia, two grandchildren, Amber (Travis) Arthur and Dustin Weiher; three great grandchildren, Kylee Arthur, Travis Arthur, Jr., and Madison Weiher, one brother Lee Weiher of Mississippi, and two sisters Betty Lou Felts of Minnesota and Martha (Guenther) Griebau of California. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Weiher and Pat Weiher and by a sister Peggy Sheets. The funeral service for Raymond will be on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at 3 p.m. at Willis Funeral Home with Rev. Rob Hale officiating. Entombment will follow in the Ohio Valley Memory Gardens Chapel of Hope Mausoleum. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. There will be military rites given at the cemetery by the Gallia County Funeral Detail. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Salvation Army or to the American Red Cross.
