Rev. James F. Patterson, 75, of Bidwell, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at his residence. Jim was born July 9, 1933 in Scioto County, Ohio, son of the late Chester A. and Goldie Webb Patterson. He married Peggy Mason on May 25, 1956 and she survives him. He was the Pastor of Debbie Drive Chapel and former Pastor of Clark Chapel, serving nearly 40 years in the ministry. Jim was also employed for 18 years by the Evans Packing Company as a meat cutter. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Korean War. Surviving are his wife, Peggy Patterson of Bidwell; three sons, Randy Sharon Patterson and Todd Shirley Patterson, both of Gallipolis, Christopher Beth Patterson of Fredericksburg, Virginia; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; three brothers, Charles Mary Ann Patterson of Shreveport, Louisiana, Billy Jo Joann Patterson and Clarence Martha Patterson, both of Gallipolis; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Anna Ruth Patterson and Phyllis Snodgrass Barcus. Services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, February 7, 2009 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Alfred Holley officiating. Burial will follow in Centenary Cemetery.
