Rick D. Bickle, 57, of Gallipolis, a loving husband and father went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 23, 2011 at Holzer Medical Center surrounded by family and friends. He was born August 3, 1953 in Gallia County, Ohio, son of the late Roy Earl and Margaret Bickle. Rick was married to Gloria (Fellure) Bickle on September 8, 1976. He was a member of the First Church of God in Gallipolis. He enjoyed fishing and spending quality time with his family and friends, especially supporting his two sons in all of their endeavors and anticipating the arrival of his first grandchild in July. Rick retired in May of 2010 after 34 years of service to AEP as a Production Support Lead Supervisor. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Bickle; two sons, Aaron Lee (Nicole) Bickle of Lancaster, Ohio and Brian Patrick (Krista Smith) Bickle of Bidwell, Ohio; two brothers, Roy Lee (Chastene) Bickle of Gallipolis, Ohio and Allen (Becky) Bickle of Crown City, Ohio; two sisters, Eileen Halley of Bidwell, Ohio and Lois Layne of Gallipolis, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. Rick was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers-in-law, Jim Halley and Raymond Layne and one niece, Rachel Bickle. Visiting hours will be observed Thursday, May 26, 2011 from 11:30 1:30 p.m. at the First Church of God, immediately followed by funeral services at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Paul Voss officiating. Burial will follow at the Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Bob Merry, Charlie Weaver, Ralph Thomas, Rick Maddox, Gary Caldwell and Bryce Smith. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes to honor Ricks request that donations be made to the Holzer Hospital Foundation for the designated purpose of providing travel vouchers for cancer patients in need.
