Early in the morning on Monday, November 09, 2015, a special man, Robert A. “Bobby” Franklin of Gallipolis, went to be with his Lord. As the sun rose Monday morning so did he to be with his Savior where he is now cancer free. Bobby was a loving husband, father, pawpaw, brother, uncle and friend. He was born on January 29, 1955 in Gallipolis, son of the late Nora I. Franklin Anderson and James L. Franklin. Bobby was a self-employed carpenter, Trustee for Clay Township, attended Elizabeth Chapel Church, and loved spending time with his grandkids. He recently gave his life to God and was a testimony to many. Bobby was married to Pamela (Nolan) Franklin on January 29, 1976 and she survives him. He is also survived by children: James (Carrie) Franklin of Gallipolis, Shannon (Billy) Harbour of Apple Grove, WV, Rachel (Ryan) Shafer of Crown City, and Robbie Heard of Bainbridge, GA, grandchildren Tyler, Will, Cole, Owen, Dax, Reid, Ryleigh and Matthew; siblings Sharon Kelley of Alabama, Peggy (Rodney) Roberts of Gallipolis, Jim (Trish) Franklin of Tennessee, John (Evelyn) Franklin of Georgia, Vickie (Terry) Brumfield of Crown City, Joe (Frances) Franklin of Georgia and Terri (John) Coats of Georgia, brothers-in-law: Cecil Kelley of Georgia, David Allen Nolan, Tim Nolan and Tony (Paula) Nolan all of Gallia County and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his father-in-law and mother-in-law David and Doris Nolan, and by a step-father Roy Anderson. Services will be 11 am Friday, November 13, 2015 at Elizabeth Chapel Church with Pastors Randy Carnes and Alfred Holley officiating. His burial will follow in Providence Cemetery.
