Ronald E. Betz

Ronald E. Betz, 95, of Gallipolis, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Abbyshire Place. He was born on August 25, 1929 in Gallipolis, Ohio, son of the late Basil W. and Betty M. McCallister Betz. Ronald was a 1947 graduate of Gallia Academy High School. He retired from Goodyear Rubber and Tire Plant in Apple Grove, West Virginia. Ronald was a member of Grace Methodist Church in Gallipolis and served in the U.S. Air Force during Korea.

Ronald was married to Phyllis L. Dutcher Betz on January 29, 1956; and she preceded him in death on August 27, 2019. He is survived by a son, Michael (Linda) Betz and a daughter, Kim (Tim) Gillespie; grandchildren, Jenny (Wes) Morgan, Alyssa Betz (Ernest Acosta), and Eric Gillespie; one great granddaughter, Lucy Morgan; and one sister, Margaret F. "Margi" Francis of Moundsville, West Virginia.

In addition to his parents and wife, Ronald was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Saunders in 2022.

The funeral service for Ronald will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 9, 2025 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Ray Kane officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from noon until the time of the service on Friday. Military rites will be given prior to the service on Friday by the Gallia County Funeral Detail.
