Rosalie Waugh

Rosalie Clary Waugh, 92, of Gallipolis, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Plum Creek Assisted Living Community in Brunswick, Ohio. Rosalie was born on June 29, 1933 in Gallia County, Ohio and graduated from Mercerville High School. She was the daughter of Floyd Clary and Lona Tunnie Clary. Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents and her birth mother Jennie Williams Clary in 1938. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Gene Waugh on March 1, 2011 and by a daughter, Diana Metter.

Rosalie worked as a bookkeeper at Old Phoenix National Bank in Brunswick, an administrative assistant for Plastic-Kote Spray Company in Medina, and a shipping clerk for HWI. After retiring, Rosalie and Gene moved back to Gallipolis. Rosalie was a member of Victory Baptist Church.

Rosalie is survived by her son, Donald (Janice) Waugh of Medina, Ohio; son-in-law, John Metter of Litchfield, Ohio; six grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Faye (Bob) Pickett of Bluffton, Ohio and Lona Mae Houck of Crown City, Ohio; and three brothers, Frank (Pam) Clary of Mercerville, John (Susan) Clary of Cape Coral, Florida, and Dicky (Linda) Clary of Crown City.

The funeral service for Rosalie will be 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at Willis Funeral Home with Richard Unroe officiating. Her burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday prior to the funeral from noon until the service.
